This policy explains how the Jast Breathe website uses cookies and similar technologies, what each one is for and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Websites can also use similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage and session storage, to remember information while you use them. In this policy we call all of these “cookies” for short.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for a website to provide a service you ask for, such as a shopping basket. Others are used for things like analytics or advertising. The law says websites must tell you about the cookies they use and, for anything that is not strictly necessary, ask for your consent first.
2. Cookies we use
Shopping basket storage (WooCommerce)
- Names: wc_cart_hash_* (local storage and session storage) and wc_fragments_* (session storage).
- Purpose: keeps the basket in our website header up to date as you move between pages.
- Type: strictly necessary.
- How long: session storage is cleared when you close the browser tab. The local storage item stays until you clear your browser’s stored data.
Shopping basket cookies (WooCommerce)
- Names: woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_*.
- Purpose: remember what is in your basket and keep it working through to checkout.
- Type: strictly necessary.
- When they are used: only after you add an item to your basket. This is not possible while ordering is closed, so these cookies are not currently set.
Contact form (WPForms)
- Purpose: runs our contact form and checks that required fields are filled in. On the Contact page it also records basic statistics about how the form is used, such as when it was viewed and for how long, which are sent to our website.
- Type: functional. Based on our checks, it does not set cookies or save information on your device.
Website administrator cookies
- WordPress sets cookies such as wordpress_logged_in_* and wp-settings-* only for people who sign in to manage the website. Visitors do not receive them.
3. What we do not use
We do not use analytics services such as Google Analytics, and we do not use advertising, social media or marketing tracking cookies. WooCommerce’s order attribution tracking is switched off.
4. Your choices and consent
The cookies we use are all strictly necessary, so the law does not require us to ask for your consent before using them. Our website does not currently load any scripts or cookies from third-party services. If we add any cookies that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics, we will ask for your consent before they are used and update this policy.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, where you can block or delete them. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the website, such as the basket and checkout, may not work.
5. When ordering opens
We plan to use Stripe to take payments. Stripe uses cookies on checkout pages that are needed to take payments securely and prevent fraud. We will update this policy before ordering opens.
6. More information
Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal data. The Information Commissioner’s Office explains cookies and your rights at ico.org.uk. If you have a question about this policy, please use our contact form.
